Cara Memasak Quick Udon:

  1. If you're using pork shabu, marinate with a dash of mirin, sesame oil and soy sauce for at least 15 mins. (Using beef shabu is best. If you do, skip this step).

  2. Boil udon until soft, put into thr serving bowl and give a bit of sesame oil (and lard) so they won't stick. Mix well.

  3. Sautee fish cakes and set aside. Sautee pork shabu and set aside. (If you're using beef shabu, skip this step.) Don't use too much oil. Remove excess oil if needed. We don't want the soup to be oily.

  4. Make the soup base in a pan. Mix everything, add in chinese cabbage (and mushrooms if you're using them) and bring to a boil. Other veggies should be added at the end to avoid overcooking. Season as preferred.

  5. (If you're using beef shabu, you can either blanch them in soup base once it's boiling OR put in on the serving bowl and let the boiling soup be poured over them.)

  6. Assemble meat, fish cake, (mushrooms if any) and other veggies on top of udon. Pour in the soup. Garnish with chopped scallion.


Bahan-bahan :

  1. 1 pack udon
  2. 200 g pork shabu (or beef shabu)
  3. Mirin
  4. Soy sauce
  5. Sesame oil
  6. Lard (optional)
  7. 100-150 g fish cake, sliced
  8. Chinese cabbage (or other veggies)
  9. Mushrooms (optional)
  10. Scallion, chopped (for garnish)
  11. Soup base
  12. 1/2 cup mentsuyu (i use yamasa tsuyu)
  13. 3 cups water
  14. 1 dashi packet
